fold的基本意思是“折叠”,可指对折,也可指交叠,引申可表示“包围,包起,笼罩”。

fold用作及物动词时,接名词或代词作宾语,可用于被动结构; 也可接副词away, up或介词in, around, into 等短语作宾语补足语, fold也可用作不及物动词,这时主动形式常含有被动意义。

fold偶尔可用作系动词接形容词作表语。

fold的过去分词folded常用作形容词,在句中作定语。
