英语语法

incline用作及物动词时,可表示“低下来,弯下来”。

incline用作不及物动词时,可表示“倾斜,倾向于,偏向于,偏于,常常容易”等意思,后面可接介词短语; 后直接接动词不定式很少见。

incline还可表示“倾向于(某种观点、说法等),常常,愿意”等意思。此时一般以人作主语,常用于系表结构。

incline后通常接动词不定式,不可接动名词作宾语。如需使用动名词,则需搭用介词to。一般认为incline包含think的意思,故不宜使用incline to think,但incline sb to think还是可以使用的。例如: 我倾向于晚上喝茶。误:I am inclined drinking tea in the even- ing.正:I am inclined to drink tea in the even- ing.

incline还可用作名词,意为“斜坡; 倾斜”。例如:They go to school by a steep incline everyday.他们每天上学都要经过一个陡坡。
